Told your labs are normal — and you still feel awful?
Avalon is a telehealth practice led by Angie Brown, NP, for people who are tired of being dismissed. We investigate what is actually causing your fatigue, bloating, brain fog, and weight changes — starting with your gut — and build a written protocol from your own labs.

Meet your provider
I founded Avalon after watching too many patients get a clean bill of health and no real answers. I’m a nurse practitioner licensed in Indiana with over two decades in healthcare, and I built this practice to spend real time with the people I treat — one chart, one relationship, and an actual investigation into what’s causing your symptoms instead of another prescription.
You’ll see me every visit. Not a rotating list of names.
How it works
No obligation before you book, and no surprises after. Four steps, in order, with the cost and the timing stated up front.
A 20-minute conversation about what’s been going on and what has already been ruled out. If Avalon isn’t the right fit, Angie will tell you.
Free · 20 minutesA full history with Angie, then the lab panel your history actually calls for — well beyond a standard annual. You’ll know every marker before it’s drawn.
Weeks 1–3Angie walks you through what your labs actually show, marker by marker, in plain language — and builds a written protocol with you.
Weeks 3–5We retest what matters, track what’s changing, and adjust the plan as your body responds. Progress gets measured, not assumed.
OngoingNothing is ordered before you know what it costs. Labs, supplements and any add-ons are discussed first — every time.
Membership
No insurance billing and no surprise charges — a flat monthly membership, with a one-time enrollment fee on the deeper tiers. Here is the whole range, up front.
Cash-pay · No insurance billed · Foundations has no long-term contract
Is this you?
Avalon exists for people who are tired of being told their labs are “normal” while they still feel unwell. If two or three of these land, you are exactly who this practice was built for.
You are exhausted no matter how much you sleep, and it has been that way for months.
You are bloated by noon no matter what you eat, and nobody can tell you why.
You have been handed pill after pill for symptoms that were never actually investigated.
Your thyroid, iron, or vitamin D came back “in range” — and you still feel terrible.
The weight will not move, and you are doing everything you have been told to do.
Brain fog is making you feel like a slower, less capable version of yourself.
You are wide awake at 3am most nights and cannot get back to sleep.
Your skin flares no matter what you put on it, and the creams only work while you use them.
You have been told it is just stress, just age, or just hormones — and left there.
You’ve spent decades taking care of everyone else. It’s time someone took care of you — the right way.

Not a philosophy statement. These are the four structural differences that make a different result possible.
Lab-driven answers, not a symptom checklist. A 21-marker panel, confirmatory retesting, and a written protocol you can actually hold.
A licensed nurse practitioner grounded in both worlds. Prescriptions and diagnostics have their place — they are part of the picture, not the whole answer.
No insurance friction. No 12-minute visit cap. A membership that replaces the insurance relationship instead of billing through it.
The clinical anchor of the practice — with specialized men’s health, women’s health, and peptide therapy available when you need them.
The ripple
Gut health sits at the center of so much of what we experience day to day — energy, mood, digestion, immunity, even the health of our skin. When the gut is out of balance, the effects ripple outward into nearly every system in the body.
Which is why these get treated as eight separate problems by eight separate people. Pick the one that sounds like your life, and see where we start looking.
These are patterns we look for, not promises about your case. Every plan is built from your own labs and history.
The model, plainly
Avalon is cash-pay on purpose. When the insurance relationship goes away, so does everything it was quietly dictating about your care.

How telehealth works here
Avalon is telehealth-only by design, not as a compromise. It is what makes an unhurried visit schedulable in the first place.
A no-cost conversation with Angie about what is going on and what has already been ruled out. If Avalon is not the right fit, she will tell you.
Foundations for a real primary care relationship. Root Cause Care to start the lab investigation. Complete Restoration for concierge-level depth.
Visits happen from your kitchen, your car on a lunch break, your living room. Same provider every time, with your whole history in front of her.
Membership & pricing
Start where your situation actually is. Foundations gives you direct primary care. Root Cause Care adds the functional medicine investigation — labs, retesting, a real protocol. Complete Restoration is concierge-level care, built around you every month.

Insurance is not billed for any tier. Lab and testing costs, supplements, and any specialty add-ons are discussed transparently before anything is ordered.
Root Cause Care members receive 5% off all supplement purchases; Complete Restoration members receive 10% off. Nothing is recommended that your protocol does not call for.
Complete Restoration includes dedicated health coaching to translate your protocol into daily habits. A plan you cannot live is not a plan — this is the layer that closes that gap.
Before you compare it to a copay
A membership fee looks like a new expense until you count what it replaces — and what it prevents you from spending another two years on.
A twelve-minute visit is not long enough to take a full history, and a full history is what determines which labs are worth running. Everything downstream depends on the appointment being long enough to be useful.
Root Cause Care includes a 21-marker panel selected because it answers a question your history raised — not because it cleared a payer’s approval threshold.
Confirmatory retesting on abnormal or clinically relevant markers. You will know whether the protocol moved anything, rather than being asked how you feel and left to guess.
Specialty add-ons
These are targeted, not a separate practice. They sit on top of the root-cause work — which is why they tend to land differently here.
For the years when everything shifts at once and the standard answer is to wait it out.
Root-cause workup before conclusions. Symptoms get a differential, not an assumption.
A specialized add-on, available with Root Cause Care and Complete Restoration memberships.
Conditions
Avalon covers the everyday medicine you need a provider for, and keeps going where conventional care usually stops. Here is a slice — the full library is its own page.

What happens next
A real sequence, in order. You will know what step you are on and what comes after it.
A no-cost conversation about what is going on, what has already been ruled out, and whether Avalon is the right fit. If it is not, we will say so.
A full history — symptoms, timeline, medications, prior workups — and the lab panel that answers the questions your history raised.
We go through the results together, marker by marker, in plain language. You leave with a written protocol and a reason behind every line of it.
Confirmatory retesting shows what moved and what did not. The protocol gets revised on evidence, not on how you felt the week you were asked.
Questions worth asking
Direct primary care is a membership relationship between you and your provider. You pay the practice directly instead of routing care through insurance. That single change removes the billing pressure that produces 12-minute visits, and it is what makes a longer, more thorough appointment structurally possible rather than just aspirational.
No. Avalon is cash-pay. The membership replaces the insurance relationship rather than billing through it. Many members keep a separate plan for hospitalization, specialists, and emergencies — Avalon is your primary care and root-cause layer, not your catastrophic coverage.
Avalon is a telehealth-only practice serving patients in Indiana. Visits happen by video from wherever you are — your kitchen, your car on a lunch break, your living room. There is no drive, no waiting room, and no rearranging your day around a fifteen-minute appointment.
No. Avalon is integrative, not alternative-only — and the difference matters. Angie is a nurse practitioner grounded in conventional primary care who also practices functional medicine. Prescriptions, diagnostics, and pharmaceuticals all have their place. They are part of the whole picture. They are just not the whole answer.
Because so much of what patients experience traces back to it — fatigue, mood shifts, stubborn weight, sleep disruption, skin flares. The gut sits at the center of energy, mood, digestion, immunity, and skin health. When it is off, the effects ripple outward into nearly every system. Starting there is not a philosophy; it is where the highest-yield answers tend to be.
Yes. Angie is a licensed nurse practitioner with more than two decades in conventional healthcare, and she prescribes when a prescription is genuinely the right tool. What changes at Avalon is that a prescription is not the automatic end of the conversation — we still look for what is driving the symptom underneath it.
Labs are ordered as part of your protocol, and Root Cause Care includes a 21-marker functional panel. You will know which markers we are running and why before anything is drawn, and we go through the results together rather than sending you a PDF with a green checkmark on it. Confirmatory retesting is built in, so we can prove what changed.
No. Avalon works alongside the specialists and care you already have. Angie refers out when a case calls for it — that is part of practicing conventional medicine honestly. What Avalon adds is the connective layer that specialty care usually does not have room for: someone looking at the whole picture and asking why.
If you mainly want a real primary care relationship — someone who knows you, has time, and is reachable — start with Foundations. If you have been told nothing is wrong and you know otherwise, Root Cause Care is where the lab work and written protocol begin. Complete Restoration is for complex, multi-system cases that need monthly attention. The discovery call exists to sort this out with you.
Foundations has no enrollment fee. Root Cause Care has a one-time $1,000 enrollment fee and Complete Restoration is $1,500 — separate from the monthly membership and paid once when you join. It reflects the front-loaded work of starting a root-cause investigation: the full intake, the lab panel, and the protocol built from it. Angie walks through exactly what is included on your discovery call, before you commit to anything.
Foundations is a straightforward monthly membership with no long-term contract. Terms for Root Cause Care and Complete Restoration are covered on your discovery call — ask directly, and you will get a direct answer before any money changes hands.
A wellness visit is the planned, unhurried appointment where the investigation happens — history, lab review, protocol adjustments. Root Cause Care includes four of those per year, one per quarter. A “sick” visit is for something acute that comes up in between: a sinus infection, a UTI, a flare. Root Cause Care includes six of those per year at no extra charge, so getting sick never becomes a reason to hesitate before reaching out.
The 21-marker panel is included with Root Cause Care, and Complete Restoration includes an expanded panel plus specialized gut stool testing. Supplements are separate — Root Cause Care members get 5% off and Complete Restoration members get 10% off. Nothing gets recommended that your protocol does not call for, and costs are discussed before anything is ordered.
Included with Complete Restoration, it is the layer that turns a written protocol into something you can actually live. A plan that looks correct on paper and does not survive a real week is not a plan. Coaching closes that gap — the habits, the sequencing, the practical adjustments that make the protocol stick.
Yes — that is exactly what Foundations is designed for. It is a foundation for future upgrade to root-cause lab work as your needs grow. Plenty of people start there to build the relationship first and move to Root Cause Care when they are ready for the full investigation.
It depends on what we find and how long it has been going on, and anyone who gives you a number without seeing your labs is selling something. What we can commit to is a real timeline: intake and labs in the first few weeks, results and a written protocol after that, and confirmatory retesting so progress is measured rather than assumed.
