How to read this list
Most patients arrive needing both, which is exactly why Avalon does both. The primary care side is the everyday medicine you need a provider for — blood pressure, thyroid, diabetes, infections, refills, screenings, referrals. It is unglamorous and it matters, and it is where a rushed system does the most quiet damage.
The functional medicine side is what happens when the primary care workup comes back clean and you still feel unwell. Instead of closing the file, we widen it: a 21-marker lab panel, a look at where you sit inside ranges rather than whether you cleared them, and a written protocol built on what the pattern is actually pointing at. Then we retest, because a protocol nobody verifies is just a guess with better formatting.
You do not have to pick a lane. A single membership covers your primary care and your root-cause investigation with the same provider, who has your whole history in one place. That continuity is most of the value.
Gut health is the clinical anchor of the practice, not one service among many. A large share of what patients bring in — fatigue, mood shifts, stubborn weight, sleep disruption, skin flares, joint pain — has some thread running back to what is happening digestively. Starting there is a decision about yield: it is where the highest-value answers tend to sit.
From that foundation, specialized care in women’s health, men’s health, and peptide therapy is layered on for patients who need a more targeted approach.
This list is a guide, not a boundary. Bring it to a discovery call — the conversation is free, and part of its job is telling you honestly whether Avalon is the right place for what you are dealing with. If it is not, Angie will say so and point you somewhere better.
